Like PopPop

So back in June when we went on vacation my son started telling me Poopie when he was "making a diaper" as I like to call it. So when we got home I went and bought him some underpants and said ok he's a little young (23 months at the time) But if he is able to verbalize it to me then I think it's time to start training.

He's been doing really well with it and tells me now even when he has to pee. But he's stopped telling me when he has to poop. What gives with that?  I'm not sure but it's hysterical if you ask him where the poopie is because he will call out "Poopie, poopie, where are you?". Then he lifts up his, um, well boys, junk, unit, whatever you want to call it and looks down to see if it is coming out of his butt.  The first time he did that I nearly fell over with laughter.

What has been happening now is that my Mother In Law took it upon herself to teach him to stand and pee. I had not started that yet with him. Now everytime we go into the bathroom he will say, "Pee Like PopPop" and my mind is flooded with mental pictures that I don't want to see! AHHHHHH. Well I guess it's time to bust out the cheerios for target practice.

How cute! What do you do with the Cheerios? Throw them in the toilet and ask him to pee in the little hole in the middle. No, just joking...that would be beyond expert aim. Good luck with the potty training thing. My girlie has been doing pretty good. As long as I don't put a diaper or pull up on, she will go by herself. Those darned pull ups are just a crutch. Still, we have had quite a few accidents : )

Pee Like PopPop... Too funny! I've heard that having them pee into a coffee can works at first because of the noise it makes. Then transition them to the toilet. My little guy is to young to try, but that is some advice that has been given to me.
