Church Show

Nicholas and I went to church on Saturday night this week since we had a birthday party at a farm to go to this morning. I was really tired and Nicholas was too since he didn't nap that great on Saturday. Mass starts at 5:30 and goes for about an hour. We usually don't go on Saturdays because it's right in the middle of dinner, bath and bedtime.

Nicholas is usually extremely well behaved in church for a toddler. He gets a little chatty sometimes and he loves to sing with and without the organ. I've had someone almost every week comment on how well behaved he is. This week he started to get really rammy towards the end. He keep grabbing my hair and ears. Then he decides to pull my shirt down in the front showing off my goods to all around. I felt the blood rushing into my face!!! But I managed to relax. Toward the end of Mass after the priest gave the final blessing he got really mad because I took the church music book away. The cover is paper and he was starting to tare it up. I'm holding Nick but he's trying to climb over me. So I said ok that’s it we are going and I am trying to gather everything up while keeping him from going over my shoulder. As I get into the lobby of the building I look down and see that Nicks foot has completely pushed the front of my shirt down and my boobs are hanging out. I must have walked by at least 20 rows of people on my way out. HOLY MORTIFICATION!

Wow. Now that's one more reason that kids are the greatest things on earth. The funny thing, though, is that no one tapped your arm and told you your goods were displayed for all to see? You should probably be more worried about that than the fact they were out in the first place!

Never mind.. I think when your kid is grown, you'll just look back at this incident and smile. But I feel for your embarassment. Hopefully, next time, your kid will be back to his well-behaved manner.
