The Simple Things

This morning I set Nicholas up with his Mega Blocks because I needed to get some work done. I sat there typing watching him out of the corner of my eye. He was taking all the single mega blocks and making a tower.  However the mega blocks don't stay together real well and after he got about ten in the stack they would fall apart. Then he would pick out the ones that fell off and add them to the stack again. He did this for about fifteen minutes talking away to himself as he played. He finally became frustrated when he realized his stack wasn't getting any taller and came over to me and put his head in my lap. I had to laugh at him. It was so cute.

I am so amazed at how much he is growing each day. Yesterday I asked him where his foot was and he reached down and grabbed it. I never worked on that with him. It's so neat to see that he understands what I say to him even though he can't necessarily communicate it back to me.  I asked him for a hug today and after he gave it to me he said kiss! That was a first as well. He just melts my heart more and more each day!

The husband got home from work just a little bit ago and he called me to the door because the neighbors were out with their new grandbaby. She's only 10 weeks old and looks so incredibly tiny to me. It's amazing how time fly’s and how tiny they are when they are first born. Nicholas is by no means big but he seems huge after seeing that little baby. It sure gives me the bug! I have been thinking about it so much more now since Joel was diagnosed with his tumor. Baby two will probably be planted sometime this year! Oh my I just said that out loud!!! Here is my Nick at four days. And yes it definitely looks like he is giving the finger in this picture!

Yo. Awesome that the first word you wrote on my site was dude. That means you are probably (99%) awesome. Congrats on that. Also, cute baby pic. And WHA? Tumor? I hope that isn't hostile. Snap that sucka out of Joel. Oh yeah, tech note, your site is out of alignment in my IE browser, you may need to adjust the left side smaller or the entire blog bigger...I am horrible with that crap. So, actually it is probably just me and disregard. Peace!
